It was a beautiful day for a bike ride. And what better place to ride than through Franconia State Park in Franconia New Hampshire.
This state park has a lot of interesting natural features and beautiful scenery. The 10 mile bike path also goes by all the attractions in the notch.
The path is a bit hilly but if you start at the Skookumchuck Trail Head (Northern bike path terminus) and go south from there is is easier then going the other direction.

We decided to do a car spot and left one vehicle at the Flume parking lot. (Southern bike path terminus). From there we got all the bikes and riders up to the Skookumchuck Trail Head. From there we started peddling the bike path. Soon we came to a bridge and look out on the from the old Rt. 3.
From there we proceed on to Echo Lake and stopped at the beach to check things out. The trail now has a nice easy downhill grade so peddling is not as hard. It was too cold to think about going into the water views of the mountains were excellent. We continued on down to the Old Man of the Mountain Memorial Site and had a snack before continuing on down the trail. As we rode along there were more views of the cannon cliffs and other mountains and trail heads.
We passed Lafayette Campground and fallowed a brook down to some waterfalls and the Basin where we walked around and took some pictures. The last leg of the trail has some ups and downs but we made to the Flume parking lot.
