While we were staying in Ocean City NJ we took a trip down to Cape May NJ. While we were here, we had to stop and see the Cape May Lighthouse. The light house is located in Cape May Point State Park.

There was no admission to get in to the park itself when we went. The park also has a beach, but swimming was not allowed there. The parking lot is large, so parking is not an issue at all.

I immediately noticed the size of this lighthouse, it was huge. One of the tallest ones I’ve seen. When we got to the light house itself, we saw there was a small charge to climb up to the top. It is 199 steps up. Since it was getting busy, hot and I was in flip-flops I decided to stay on the ground for this one.

I walked around the structure and took some pics but we decided to keep driving on our little excursion. Next time I visit I will have sneakers and climb this light house.

Nicely painted water barrel
A little archway in the back.
