On a rainy camping day, we deiced to take a little road trip up to Woodstock, Maine to visit the largest telephone in the word.
The is located in the center of Woodstock, Maine. The 14 foot telephone commemorates the last crank telephone call made in the US. In 1983 the Bryant Pond Telephone company stopped its hand cranked system and converted its customers to direct dial.
There is plenty of parking behind the large telephone. There is also a plaque that talks about the why the statue is there and its importance. In the front of the phone there is a large crank that you can actually turn.
A few rainy pictures and we were all good to go. This is a fun attraction that should not be missed if you are in the area.
