While visiting Vail a few months ago I came across a covered bridge in the village. It was called the John and Crissy Dobson Covered Bridge.
This bridge is the “official” entrance to the Vail Village. It is mostly a walking only bridge but I’m sure it could hold some small maintenance vehicles.

This bridge has a bit of a history to it as well. Turns out that when this bridge was first built it did not have a roof. It was just a regular bridge that spanned across the Gore Creek.
When John and Crissy Dobson moved to Vail CO, from Vermont, they purchased a section of land near the bridge and started the covered bridge store. They also paid half the cost to put a roof over the bridge with a New England style design.

This is interesting because most of Vail has a Bavarian style to it but this small New England style bridge helps to add some character to the whole village.

The bridge spans xxx feet across the Gore Creek. It is supported by a Multiple Kings Truss. The bridge was rebuilt and repaired in 1994.
