This was another long drive for a quick hike. I made the best of it by getting some photos of the Waterloo Covered Bridge and the Lower Warner Cemetery.

Finding the parking spot was a bit tricky. The trail head parking can hold 2-4 cars and looks like it is on private property, but it is not. This small lot is located across from a residence and just to the right of their mailboxes. The trail starts about 10 up the road from the parking spot. Note: there is a pull-off/class 6 road with a gate. This is not the trail head.

The trail started off pretty flat and then started to gradually climb. The trail was well marked but there were a lot of leaves, twigs and blowdowns in and along the trail. It appeared to be traveled but not heavily.
I came to the small water crossing that was easily crossed. The trail started to incline a bit. And there were some old stone walls in some sections. I came to a second water crossing. This one was an easy step over.

From here the trail starts to climb moderately. There is a nice stone wall end cap on a large stone. I don’t see many stone walls end like that. When I arrived at the property corner I had to step over another stone wall.
From here the trail starts to really climb and is a direct straight up route to the summit. There are a few steep sections but nothing very long.

Before long I could see the summit pole in a pile of rocks. Only evidence I could see (maybe) was a hole drilled into a rock next to the summit. Took a few pics and went down to where there was supposed to be a view but there was not much there.

The walk down went much quicker. I had to take it slow on the way down. Lots of leaves and lots of wet rocks, especially the steep parts.

Before I knew it I was back at the property corner, and then back to the water crossings and finally I could see the orange of my car.

This was not a very interesting hike but it was short and had some points of interest. Not sure I’d go back but you never know.
