I’ve never been to this small hill in Concord. It was at one point in time the location of a fire look out tower. My friend Katelyn, met Liberty and I on this warm and humid evening to check out a few of the trails.

We started at the main parking lot which was much larger than I thought. I could hold about 20 cars. When we arrived it there was only a few other cars there. It was sunny and humid, so I made sure to have extra water for Liberty.

We started out toward the kiosk and took a right. This is not a trail as we soon found out. Back to the kiosk and up a little way to the junction of the loop. We went counterclockwise around.

The trail is well maintained and in good shape. It has a few rolling hills at the start. We were slowly gaining elevation and before we knew it we were out at our first viewpoint. There was a large clearing and a nice view of Pennacook Lake.

After a few pictures, we continued on. After a short way we came to the Jerry Hill Trail junction that would take us to the summit. On our way up we came to another viewpoint where it looks like a mountain bike trail runs through.

After a bit more walking, we arrived at the summit. There was a cement footprint from where the fire tower once stood. Other than that, the summit was wooded and did not have any views. We took a break for a bit and Liberty had a drink.

We did not stay at the summit long. We continued our loop around. The rest of the hike moved pretty quicky due to a lot of good conversation. The trail down was easy to follow. When we arrived at the loop where we started, Liberty decided to do her little car protest and walked into the wood to hide. I went in and got her and we all jogged the rest of the way to the car.
