This looked to be a pretty trail network a friend of mine brought to my attention a while back. I had never heard of it. It is in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. And since all the Lupines were still in bloom, I thought I would give it a try.

When I reached the trail head there was room for 5-6 cars. The weather was cloudy and warm. From lot the trail leads to an open field and a kiosk with more maps. Before heading up to Bronson, I decided to check out a small Storybrook Trail. It is officially the orange trail I believe.

This was short and fun. I like these story trails. They have different pages from a children’s book placed in protected sleeves on a small display. About every 20-50 feet there is another display with the page flipped.
Back at the kiosk, I started up the green trail. This climbed gently for a short while through the woods. It wasn’t long before I reached the junction of the Yellow trail. From there the Green trail loops back down but I continued up the yellow. This was a little longer than the green but still somewhat short.

The Yellow trail is also a loop, but it intersects the Blue Trail, and I took that trail to the Red Summit Trail. The summit trail is not very long and at first seemed well traveled. But after a while it kind of fades away. There was one trail that led down that was blocked off and said no trespassing. So, I obeyed. And continued looking for the height of land.
When I found what looked like the highpoint, I could see no markings of even something to identify it was a summit. My GPS said the summit was a bit further downhill. Since this was a full bushwack at this point I decided to head back to where I went off the trail.

Back on the trail I started to make my way down the mountain. From the Red Trail to the Blue and then Back to the Yellow to complete the loop. There is a nice lookout on the Yellow but much of it is on private property. A little further there is a spur that I was able to enjoy the view at for a little bit. This was the highlight of the whole trip.

I came to another intersection with the White Trail. Since I was already exploring new trails I decided to follow the White Trail back down to the Green Trail and out to the car.
This is an interesting little network. I wish there were more things to check out and some better views but the drive up to the trail network
