A quick walk up Pine Mountain in Alton, NH to capture the equinox sunset with my friend Kat. The skies were clear, and temps were in the high 60’s. It had been a while since I’d done this hike, but it seemed like the perfect hike for a Monday night.

The trail up was pretty easy with a few moderate spots just as I remembered. It was also wide and easy to follow. There are a few side trails as well but overall we made it to the top in 20-30 minutes.

When we got to the viewpoint there were a few other people up there. I set up my camera and tripod and took a few test shots. The sunset is beautiful up there setting over the Belknap Range.

I got several good photos. This hike has great views of Mt. Major and Mt. Straight back as well as Alton Bay and Lake Winnipesaukee. About a half hour after the sunset, I packed up my camera, and we headed back down the mountain with headlamps glowing.
