We had seen this monument in Bennington and wondered what it was. It was not far from the Frost gravesite, so we made our way over to this giant brick obelisk.

The structure is tall and sits on top of a hill. As we approached it there were some statures and a small gift shop. You can climb up to the top of the structure for a price. Ticket purchased in the gift shop, but it was under construction when we got there.

The obelisk was built to commemorate the Battle of Bennington, which was a major turning point in the Revolutionary War for the northeast. General John Stark lead this battle. So it was interesting to Steph and I because Stark was from Manchester, NH.
