The first morning I got up early and went to get some coffee. From here my Aunt and I decided to go walk the Chicago River Walk while the others rested up for another full day.

We started right behind our hotel near the Wabash Street. It seemed very dead at 7:30 in the morning compared to all the hustle and bustle of the previous evening.

We continued along the riverwalk and crossed the river and headed over to the Navy Pier. When we got the pier it was not open and saw only joggers and power walkers. We took some pictures along the way of the different boats and shops along the pier. We followed the river walk path across the river again but we wanted to explore the opposite side of the river walk too. But after crossing again we realized that the riverwalk on that side was not as connected as the one we started on.

So we crossed back and walked down to the very end, which is a small park at the main river junction. It’s a nice little park by the river in the middle of downtown and has a lot of Adirondak chairs to sit in.

Along the walk there are a number of small sittings areas, restaurants, wineries, and even a place where you can rent fishing poles and fish off the edge.

From here we returned back to the hotel to meet up with everyone and get ready for the days adventure.
