While visiting some family in Wisconsin, my sister in-law mentioned that there was a network of caves up the road from there house. They said it was pretty interesting and worth checking out if we had time.

So after breakfast the next morning we checked out of the Light House Inn and did a little sight seeing around Twin Rivers, WI. It was a beautiful day.

Eventually we made it up to Maribel Caves. We first saw the falling down stone building that used to be a bottling factory. This is on private property so we did not explore the ruins.

Then we worked our way into the park and started walking down to the first cave. This is the Spring Cave and known for a freshwater spring. This spring is on private property and sealed off.

We came upon the New Hope Cave but it looked like there was work being done on it so we did not enter.

Next we were at the Cooper Cave. This one we were able to go in a bit. It is shallow and we did not have good lights, so we did not go in far.

Next was Pancake Cave. This I had to climb up to and it had a small opening, so I just took a couple of pictures and did not go inside.

From here we went up to the car and entered the cave trails from a different entrance. We made our way down to Staircase Cave, which was sealed off. Then over to the Tartarus Cave. This cave had a nice entrance. It looked like it belonged on a movie set with all the different levels of rock.

We continued to walk a number of the trails here. These trails are real nice and well maintained. There were a few board walks that were beautiful. There were a few people fishing along the river.

This cave network has guided tours during the summer months. I’d like to go back and take one of these tours and explore a little more of these underground pathways.
