The Warrens Cranberry Festival was the initial reason we heeded to Wisconsin.

I was surprised to learn that Wisconsin was the largest cranberry producing state in the US. Coming from New England I always believed Massachusetts and the famous cranberry bogs of Cape Cod. Long story short, we were going to the Warrens Cranberry Festival.

The festival says it has over a 100,000 people go through the small down of Warren with a population of around 500 people.

I expected to see this festival in a large fairground or field. Nope. They pretty much shut down the town, and the festival takes over. Streets lined with artisans, bakers, non-profits, wholesalers, retailers and more. The streets were filled with vendors and a lot of excitement.

We expected to see more “cranberry” stuff but what we did see was cool and delicious. We had cranberry cream puffs, deep fried cranberries (yum), cranberry popcorn, cranberry ice cream, cranberry jelly and, cranberry shakes.

After walking the full loop around the town. We decided to call it a day. It was an interesting festival but not at all what any of us expected. If you do find yourself at this festival. I highly recommend the “deep fried cranberries on a stick” they are so good!
