The Blacksmith Shop Covered Bridge was built in 1882 by James Frederic Tasker. It is one of the few 19th-century covered bridges left in New Hampshire. The bridge is 92 feet in length and about 14.5 feet wide. This bridge has multiple Kingpost Trusses. About 1/3 of the trusses are covered with verticle boards.
The bridge got its name because of a nearby shop owned by blacksmith John Fellows. The bridge was rehabilitated in 1963 and was closed to vehicle traffic.
This bridge sits off the road about 50 feet and it nestled in nice little area among the trees. The Mill Brook that runs below it is very picturesque. This was one of my favorite covered bridges I’ve visited so far. I loved its simplicity and its quaint setting.
