Table Rock
It’s been a long time since I’ve been through Dixville Notch. So while heading north to Pittsburg, NH with a buddy of mine. We decided to take a quick hike up the .8 mile trial to Table Rock.
Table Rock is a granite cliff that jets out over Dixville Notch. It has outstanding views of the whole notch and the Balsams Resort. It also has a walk out that is about 4 feet wide and drops over 800’ on three sides. Not a great place to be for people who don’t like heights.

Parking was easy to find. There is plenty of room for people to park. We started up the trial that climbed steeply right form the start. Once we got to the high point of the trail we had to climb down a bit to get to the cliff and outlook.
Once on the cliff the views are awesome. Going all the way out on the ledge was going to have to wait till another day. There were some gusty winds up there and with an 800’ drop on three sides I wasn’t going to take any chances.
The hike was an out and back and the trail is in good condition considering it is well traveled and a bit steep. Next time I would like to spend a little time in the notch and hike a larger section of the Cohos Trail.
