I had some time in the afternoon so I thought I would make the most of it by visiting some Southern New Hampshire Fire Towers. I knew these would be very short walks in the woods but I think I over estimated how much time it actually would take.

Federal Hill is in Milford New Hampshire. I found the road that leads to the top. It was gated at the bottom and signs saying No Parking/Do not block gate. So I pulled into the side and out of the way. Not a lot of room there. Maybe 2 cars could fit?

The trail is basically a road that leads to the top. It was very wet and there was running water in some sections. It took a total of 10 minutes to reach the tower at the summit. Once there of course I had to climb the tower and take a few pics. The deck to the tower was full of paint and graffiti but at least it was a little more “artsy” than your standard graffiti tags.

Federal Hill Fire Tower

After walking back down I headed over to Warner Hill in Derry, New Hampshire. I found the fire wardens road and drove up to the gate. There is a dog breeding place next to the gate so I had about 20 Labs barking at me when I arrived.

I started walking up to the tower and by the time I got my pole out and extended I had arrived. The tower was about 50 feet from the parking. So again I climbed the tower and took a few pics. At this point the sun was breaking through the clouds and I was able to capture the moment.

For both hikes, out and back combined it was a total of 30 minutes of walking. Not much in the way of exercise but  it was nice to check these towers off the list.
